2020 Orchid Show at the Chicago Botanic Garden - a review in photos
It’s been a really strange few weeks (months?) As of today, the middle of April 2020, I’ve been at home for over a month. I have not gone to work (I’m fortunate enough to be able to work from home at the moment) I have not gone to the grocery store, I have not seen friends, or even had a Starbucks! I have only left the house to go to dr. appointments. The Covid-19 pandemic we are experiencing is absolutely surreal. I can’t even explain it. In my mind, it feels like some sort of bad post apocalyptic Outbreak kind of movie and it’s frightening.
But this post isn’t about the pandemic. There is already so much terrible news and stats out there, I want to put something pretty and hopeful out into the world right now.
I’d like to show you this year’s Orchid Show at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I know I say every year “this year was better than the last,” but it’s so true! This year truly was spectacular! The theme this year was “Brilliance.”
And it was reflected in the unique colorful displays and in the gorgeous flowers from the moment you walked in until the very last section!
Right?! It was pretty breathtaking and the perfect antidote for a long dreary winter.
I look forward to going to the Orchid Show at the Chicago Botanic Garden every year. I’m so thankful I was able to make it out at least once this year. Here’s hoping that everyone stays well, and we can get back to the Garden soon!
Take care,
-a
