Featured Handmade Artist- xmoonbloom
Hello! Today's Featured Handmade Artist is Lindsay, from xmoonbloom, which has to be, by far, one of the cutest shops I've seen ever! Seriously, cats in hats? Absolutely adorable!
Check out a few of her other super fun pet hats and crocheted animals!
Hi Lindsay! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am an artist/designer/crafter from the bay area. Lately my focus has been crocheting like a madwoman for my etsy shop.
How long have you been creating?
I've been creating since my introduction with construction paper and crayons.
What is your inspiration for making your pieces?
My pet hats were inspired by my cat. i made some bunny ears to turn her into a cabbit. She looked so ridiculous but people seemed to love it so i came up with several other designs. And they've been a hit!
What is your most prized possession?
Computer!
What would your dream job be?
Working independantly as an artist.
Can you please tell us a little bit about your creative process?
My creative processes are different depending on the task. If i am designing i am drawing upon inspiration, planning, sketching, tweaking to perfection. If i am crafting it is physically cranking out the product. More thought is involved in the design process but more physical labor is involved in making.
What item would you be secretly heartbroken if it sold?
My original paintings.
How do you promote your work?
Most of my exposure has been through word of mouth. People have taken it upon themselves to post pictures of my work and link my shop because they think it's cute. I'm very grateful that people have been so supportive!
What are some of your favorite books, movies, musicians, and websites?
Wow too many to list! anything fantasy, sci-fi, surreal.
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
Healing powers.
Thanks so much Lindsay!!!! I hope you all get a chance to stop by xmoonbloom and check out the adorable pet hats, crocheted animals and patterns!!!
