Hi Bonnie!! Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Bonnie Bulger. I have lived in the Chicago suburbs all of my life. I am a jewelry designer and a stay at home mom to 2 girls.
What is the first craft project you remember making?
I remember making potholders on a little loom. I recently saw these kits at a craft store. There were all different colors of loops and you would pull them through with a hook.
Where does your inspiration come from?
I have many different inspirations but one of the biggest is probably color. I love working experimenting with different color combinations and am always looking at color. Vintage fashion also inspires me. I love the styles from the 40's and early 50's. I love the elegance, glamor and femininity.
Can you please describe some of your creative process?
I don't have a set creative process but I usually start by playing around with different colors and textures and start laying things out.
What is your most prized handmade possession?
I have to say my most prized handmade possessions are little things my daughters have made me.
If you could give one piece of advice to a new etsy seller, what would it be?
There are so many different facets to Esty but I would have to say your pictures are really important! You really need to take good pictures that really show your product. It takes a lot of trial and error but you can always keep improving them.
What are some of the ways you promote your work?
I have a website www.bebdesigns.com
Etsy shop www.bebdesigns.etsy.com
Facebook page www.facebook.com/bebdesigns
and I am currently starting a blog beb-designs.blogspot.com/
What are the three three websites you couldn't live without?
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
In 10 years my girls will be grown and I will continue with my business and see where things go. I would like to expand my jewelry into more boutiques or maybe even have a shop of my own.
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
I think being able to get things done with the snap of my fingers. I like things really organized and everything would always be in it's perfect place.
Thanks so much Bonnie for giving us this wonderful opportunity to get to know the artist behind the beautiful creations of Bebdesigns! Its been a pleasure!
